Professional

The dude on the right (you can only see his stomach) took offence to that, I was not a professional photographer.  He was saying that is not how professional photographer's take photographs.

Tshepo (the dude with the fuck you finger) reflected my sentiment.

I appreciate good photography, I don't give a fuck who took it and what edumacation they went through to work for Sunday Times.

Word to moms.

  1. err, I apologise for the profanity, but it's used only in the creative context to express one's self... considering the limited vocab I have.

    ;-)

  2. it's like everyone with access to photoshop n illustrator is a designer.

but what if their idish is on point tho? what if they're actually better at it than the dude who went thru 3 years of design education.? should the talented dude with no formal education not follow his gift/passion? what's the point of art when education takes away from the edge of creative?

unlike medicine (in a western sense), art is something one's born with. at a certain point, one chooses to harness/feed or ignore it. education, in my understanding is an ongoing process one can undertake from a variety of sources. whether the source is a classroom, an internet chatroom or thru trial n error.

some of the best writers i know have never been "trained' to write. atleast not in a four-walled space of any sort.

peeps will critises since forever. like meth said, "they talk about it while we live it". so here goes the middle one like did dude in the pic.

You don't really need the professors and the thick books to be good at something. Just need passion (and maybe Google)!!!

  4. the legendary Chakih Spark... i couldn't agree more...(ur comment as a whole).

Education is very important but what do we then say in cases where you find an educated person failing to apply what a piece of paper (qualification) states they know/studied/completed...

I believe the best combination one can have is Talent + Education... and of course: passion, hard work etc...

We have a lot of people who have made names for themselves in their respective industries/fields without any formal education...

So rather we be talented people that hopes to be educated, rather than educated people who hopes to be talented... cos' i think the latter is impossible since i believe 'tis either ur born with it or not...

    word.

  5. A load of bull! "They" keep telling us the same thing in the film industry. Luckily, some of us don't listen to that crap! Thank God, for that!
