I am never one to capture, 'the hood' --- way too much clutter, for my liking.

yeah I hear you, but the clutter, is what makes the hood distinct...
there in lies the problem, abe -- i am minimalist --- and that comes across in my photography --- but the 'hood don't come 'minimal', so I could never compose a shot.
