I R Quiting.

This decision, has taken me about 4-6 months to come to, it was/is not easy, I love the freedom I have granted myself, most importantly, time is everything to me, to have complete control of my time is what I want to have and own.  I'd hate it if anybody was to own my time, but it appears I have to go down that root.

So, I have decided to get back into the 'employment line' and get a job.  I am not happy with the idea that I am almost 30 years old and I have to hustle just to get a beer, or a loose cigaratte, most importantly, I cannot be trying to maximise what I can or not do with 20 rands, imagine that 20 rands.

I will come back to this business, sometime, maybe in 5 years.  I will continue to run, some aspects of it, whilst I am still employed, but for now, I need to live, live a life worth living.

  1. You can still own your time whilst working for somebody else.
That's if I'm understanding you correctly. I got a great deal with the employer.
He hooks me up with a laptop, a blackberry and 3G - we agree on what I need to deliver every month.
And I can work wherever I please.
If I need to be in the office, I still have office space.
If I wanna work from home - nobody cares - just as long as you deliver.
I think it's so freakin progressive.
And maybe you can negotiate a similar deal with whoever you are gonna work for.
Depending on the kind of work you'll be doing I suppose.
But ya...I think the traditional working environment as we know it is gonna change.

For instance, the other day I think it was hte provincial government that was urging employers to be more flexible with the working hours. Reason for this was cause they wanted to ease the traffic congestion in the mornings and evenings.
But imagine if more people were working from home...
  2. best of luck son. wit the job hunting bit. it is so funny that i was actually thinking if my current employers go down the drain(insolvency), then there's no way i am getting back to queeing up for employment again, but, that remains a hopeful wish for now, if /when it happens, i will make my decision based on that future present state of affairs, regardless of what it might be. feel me playa? n-e-ways, i was saying that it is funny that i am seriously considering the whole solo ish. freelance, blah blah, but esih, it is such a friking hard choice to make. Keone on the way and all. cant afford to be broke. anyway i like davinci's idea, flexible working environment. i think is frikking revolutionary.
  3. No ways dude....! I mean who's going to be taking care of sinah. Unless your going to be flexible the way da vinci said. Yeh you might not produce the same tite work as you doing now when you do find one, but you can still make a plan.I mean our parents and their parents where the most flexible and strongest people in this life time. They had to hold up 3 if not more jobs at the same time to feed our asses. Now our work has been made much easier, its all revolutionary, sh*t we even given a choice to work or not. Technology is here to pamper us and choice is a luxury nowadays. All you have to do is find a balance in all you have to accomplish. Think about it. Sinah needs you. well at least I know I am going to need it from now, (cool site) let me introduce myself !
