Madume ka lapeng!

One fundamental difference between Namibia and South Africa from a 'technological' perspective, is their internet connectivity --- it's everywhere, well in Windhoek it was --- and compare that to JHB --- you lucky to find a wi:fi hotspot without buying a meal.

Socially, they speak more Afrikaans all the time --- In my less than 48 hours there I heard more Afrikaans than I do in a single year.

It was weird, it did not feel like that 'language of the oppressor' when they spoke --- double standards I suppose.

I see your point Lebogang, Where I live at the moment (Nothern Cape), everyone speaks Afrikaans, and +- 60% of the peeps here are from Namibia.

Meesrte tyd by die werk ek praat Afrikaans, half of my staff are afrikaans speaking, 90% of my customers are Afrikaans speaking. It felt awkward for me at first, but now I am used to it (Afrikaans), not that I like it, but I try to accomodate every1 to get my job done and carry on in my life.

My child is even being educated in Afrikaans, not by choice, but because there is no Enlish crech around in the area.
