  1. Township skylines mirror our past,
    they curse our future.
Township skylines speak of unattainable dreams,
    familiar screams,
fuzzy kasi-logic that has one holding that same skyline dear to their heart,
hating the promise of a new day.

I'd go back to these kasi skylines in a heart beat.

  4. ill piece Mr. Monk.
    your own?

  5. it's amazing how oppressed people ( of all colours and shades) have the ability to flip the script on the negative and invent a lighter side to it.

like how americans of african descent have turned the word nigger/nigga/niggah around. bcos when you really think about it, at some point in history, present or future, every word can be offensive and/or non-offensive depending on context and/or origin.

like how africans in townships have embraced the reality of townships. not all, but most, see the township as a place filled with sweet memories and culture that they can identify with. like certain type idish can only go down in the township, for example.

  7. I agree with "the legendary..."

Even if you manage to move across to the other side of the M1, you heart will always hold on to that place. That place that raised you, that schooled you about life, that place that gave you that identity that you can now proudly 'floss' to those who don't understand you. you know!

  8. Nna ke re Lebogang o maka. Senepe se ha se samampela. How the heck did you do that - that yellow, the lines...orange, then red...marune...

  10. truly outstanding...
once again, fill us in on the technique...photography 101or is this in 301

  11. ill imagery. There is a certain type of familiarity when driving through any kasi, that warm fuzzy feeling that reminds you of how simple yet so difficult it was, and still you push on pusher!

  12. err, err, i messed around with the settings on the camera... aperture, time value and white balance... i don't really know exactly what they are to the t... but I looked outside, last week sat/sun and saw the sun was red... and i took like 30-40 shots of it with different settings until the sun really set and disappeared...

i suppose in the beginning it's not the camera that matters in photography, but sooner or later if you want something to come out as something specific... you will need a camera that can allow for that....

surely, your question i did not answer, but hey, i try, i just had lunch i got nigaritis (soporific) like a mutha....

    |-)

  13. its all good man....
i think one masters the skill overtime and then it justifies getting a camera with all the settings etc.
