Morning Dew

Remember that song, Method Man ft. Mary J. Blige, "... one sweet morning dew...". Good time, good times.

Okay, let me explain why I am not keen on the SA Blog awards, albeit you are liberty to nominate this, anywhere and everywhere, I might not endorse it, but hey, what do I know?

One of the reasons why I am not keen on the awards has to do with design.  Firstly their site is badly designed.  Secondly the winner for the 'photography' category has been Cherrylava.  Now compare that with the runners up Gosu and Apparently Nothing.  My vote would go with the Gosu and/or Apparently Nothing from a design perspective and photography, these are way superior over Cherryflava.

Alas, I have 'pre-launched' HALF. Check it out, let me know what you think.  It is only a start, there is a bit more to be done.

  1. You are really getting REALLY-REALLY good. This is a great picture.

I like the idea behind half. I'm not design inclined so I'm not going to comment on the design accept to say I love the brightness - so you got a 'hell yeh' on your choice of colours. They are really very warm.

As for content. For instance you have something on the design indaba - for somebody who hasn't been I'd like to know what really goes on there from somebody who has been.
Not the PR hogwash hey. I would want real info. But hey - if half is going to tell me things I don't alreayd know...then I'd definitely subscribe.
  2. Kewl. The yellow, depending on how dark my room gets, makes me cry... my eyes are photo-sensitive...

Alas... what I want to do with Half is exactly what you just said, "real info". So anybody that will be contributing has to put a their name, their minds, their perceptions of what ever they write about.

Alas, it's still a difficult project to execute, took me 3/4 years to actually start doing it... so I'd say it will only have value in about 3-6 months, plus I am serious about it to let take it's time to grow, slowly, as matome would say, 'organically'.
  3. Check how that rain drop magnifies the seed's thread! I showed the picture to one of our photographers and he said "Technically its a brilliant picture, however he feels more could be done photographically?" I don't know what he meant by that. This can make a good background pic. Iloveitalot.
  4. Oh I checked out that Ayo chickie's site.
Her mom was a gypsey, pops is from Nigeria. She's hart though isn't she. DAIMN!

I wanna know why DJ's don't do more research. Like, I want a station that will introduce me to shit I haven't heard before. Why don't they do that? But no, errbody's playing the exact same shit. Big ups to TV (channel o and mtv base come to mind) for bringing us some of that African flavour. I just wish I could afford DSTV. Eish.
  5. ... abe you must tell your photographer I am not a photographer.
